Sports: Permian girls go 1-1 in Justin
Comments 0 | Recommend 0JUSTIN Permian High School’s girls soccer team salvaged a split Friday in the Lady Texan Invitational, hosted by Justin Northwest High School.
The Lady Panthers (3-3) lost their opener 2-1 against host team Northwest, which is coached by former Permian head coach Jim Bragg.
Northwest got goals from Lindsay Sudderth and Malory Ammerman for a 2-0 lead, with Permian pulling within 2-1 on a free kick by Haley Fowler.
Permian bounced back later in group play to beat Wylie 3-1 with Fowler assisting goals by Marianne Hubnik and Kourtnye Chandler. Shalee Thomas added a penalty kick for Permian, while Madison Rogers scored off an Emily Endenstrom assist for Wylie.
The Lady Panthers will close out group play at 10 a.m. today against Arlington Martin, which beat Northwest 5-1 and Wylie 5-2 on Friday in its group games.
