>> OHS earns berth: Four schools qualified for the 7-on-7 state championships during the Permian 7-on-7 tournament Saturday.

The top two teams in both the large-school pool and the small-school pool advanced.

Odessa High, which went 4-0, and Midland Lee each qualified in the large-school division.

Olton and Midland Christian qualified in the small-school division.

Teams that already had qualified for the stae championships played in a separate pool, and the Permian varsity team finished 2-0-1. Permian's second team and junior varsity team each finished 2-2 in the same pool.
