OHS 30, LUBBOCK HIGH 0 (FINAL)

FOURTH QUARTER

6:30 -- Gabriel Rodriguez catches a 17-yard TD pass  from Derrick Teegarden. Austin's extra-point attempt is blocked. Odessa High 30, Lubbock High 0.

8:52 -- Tyler McQueen catches his third TD pass of the game, scoring on a 5-yard pass from Derrick Teegarden. Austin misses the extra point and OHS leads 24-0.

THIRD QUARTER

:28 -- Travis Austin extends the OHS to 18-0 with a 40-yard field goal that splits the uprights

5:25 -- Travis Austin hits from 27 yards out to make it 15-0 in favor of the Bronchos 

 

SECOND QUARTER

:19 -- OHS quarterback Derrick Teegarden is intercepted in the end zone by Jabree Gibson on a deflection off the hands of Bronchos receiver Miles Torres. Gibson returns teh ball to the LHS 42 and OHS is hit with a personal foul to move the ball to the Bronchos' 43

  3:30 - OHS 12, LHS 0 .... The Bronchos extend the lead when Derrick Teegarden hits Tyler McQueen in the right corner of the end zone, with McQueen making a nice one-handed catch for the score .... The two-pont conversion failed

  10:46 - the Bronchos can't take advantage of the blocked punt and are forced to punt themselves

 11:43 - OHS defensive end Adam Daniels blocks a Westerner's punt and the Bronchos take over at the LHS 43.

 FIRST QUARTER

 :24 -- The Bronchos get on the board when Derrick Teegarden hits Tyler McQueen with a 25-yard touchdown pass. The extra point is blocked and OHS leads 6-0.

10:16 - Bronchos are forced to punt after a third-down pass is dropped for a four-yard loss on third and 14 at the LHS 44.

7:11 - OHS forces Lubbock High to punt and the Westerners pin the Bronchos back at their own 5

 

7:19 p.m. -- both teams have just left the field after their pre-game warmups .... Right now, there are as many people on the OHS side of the field as there are on the Lubbock side of Lowrey Field .... It's a clear night, not a cloud in the sky and the shadow has completely covered the field between the 35-yard lines ...

The girls season started last week and the boys season gets going this week, all while cross country, volleyball and football are in the midst of their playoffs. Should the UIL alter the basketball season to avoid such conflicts?
